Faucaria Tigrina Tiger's Jaw Seeds

Inc. GST + FREE Shipping

Faucaria Tigrina Tiger's Jaw is an intriguing succulent originating from South Africa where it grows in rock crevices in the east cape province of Albany. Unfortunately, due to aggressive harvesting by succulent collectors, Faucaria Tigrina, also known as the Tiger's, is rarely found in its native habitat. Faucaria Tigrina Tiger's Jaw is highly sought after because the striped leaves and teeth like extensions on the margins of the leaves, are said to resemble Tiger's jaw. As the plants mature, they produce a finely-cut and scented, yellow daisy like flower (not dissimilar to a Livingstone Daisy) which can be 4-5cm in diameter, which is a pretty impressive flower to plant size ratio. Faucaria Tigrina Tiger's Jaw is ideally grown in pots with a free draining mix high in sand, but will also grow in rockeries and a wide range of gardens, and like all succulents is very drought tolerant, making it a favourite for pots and sun-drenched garden beds. The young foliage is generally dark green, but take on a silver tone as they mature, with the stunningly exotic dusted-silver foliage making this variety a great addition to any garden as the intriguing texture provides great contrast. At The Climbing Fig, we believe in conservation through cultivation, so why not consider growing this stunning succulent variety, and ensure this valuable biodiversity is conserved. The seeds of Faucaria Tigrina Tiger's Jaw we have on offer have been sustainably sourced, and we look forward to helping other keen gardeners to share the joy of growing this fascinating plant.
